Fun Times Party Rental

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a party, school event, church event, festival, or backyard celebration? Here are the most common questions customers ask before renting bounce houses, water slides, obstacle courses, generators, and other party rental equipment from Fun Times Party Rental.

Pricing & Reservations

How much does it cost to rent a bounce house?

The cost to rent a bounce house usually depends on the size of the inflatable, the type of unit, the rental length, and the event location. Basic bounce houses are typically the most affordable option, while larger combo bouncers, water slides, and obstacle courses may cost more.

For a deeper breakdown, read our guide: How much does it cost to rent a bounce house?

How far in advance should I reserve an inflatable?

We recommend reserving as early as possible, especially for weekends, spring and summer dates, school events, church events, and major holidays. Popular rentals can book weeks in advance.

If your event is coming up soon, still reach out. We often have last-minute availability and are happy to help if we can.

How far in advance should I reserve for spring, summer, or holiday weekends?

Peak dates can fill quickly. Spring birthdays, summer water slide season, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Halloween, school events, church events, and graduation season are all times when popular rentals may book earlier than normal.

If you already know your event date, reserving early gives you the best chance of getting your first-choice inflatable instead of choosing from what is left.

How can I reserve a bounce house today?

You can reserve online through our website, call us at (214) 277-4953, or send us a message through the website contact options.

Our office hours are generally Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm, and our team delivers events throughout the week based on the reservation schedule.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, business checks, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. For checks, a government-issued ID may be required. Returned checks are subject to a returned-check fee.

Weather, Rain & Cancellations

What is your rain and bad weather policy?

Safety comes first. Fun Times Party Rental reserves the right to make the final decision to cancel or stop a rental because of unsafe weather conditions. This may include sustained winds around 20 mph, heavy rain, lightning, thunder, or temperatures below 40°F.

If weather is questionable, please contact us as early as possible. If you choose to proceed with delivery and setup, payment is due upon delivery and rental charges are not refunded after setup.

What is your bounce house rental cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, contact us as soon as possible. The sooner we know, the more flexible we can usually be.

  • 120 hours / 5 days notice: deposit charge only.
  • 72 hours / 3 days notice: 50% of the rental amount.
  • Under 72 hours: full rental price may be charged.

Any money due back is generally issued as a raincheck. Cancellations must be submitted in writing by email or through our contact page. If canceling within 24 hours of your event, please also call the office during regular office hours.

Setup, Power & Space

Do inflatable bounce houses need electricity?

Yes. Bounce houses require electricity to stay inflated during use. Each inflatable uses a blower that runs continuously while the unit is operating.

Most blowers use a standard 110-120 volt household outlet. For best performance, the blower should be plugged into a dedicated outlet using the extension cord provided by our team.

What if I do not have power within 100 feet?

No power? No problem. We have generators available for rent. Our 5000 watt generators can power up to 2 motors, and our larger generators may be able to power additional equipment depending on the setup.

How much space is needed for a bounce house?

Most standard bounce houses need a setup area of about 15-20 feet wide by 15-20 feet deep, plus extra room around the inflatable for the blower, anchoring, and safe entry and exit.

Every product page lists the unit dimensions and the setup space needed. Please also check overhead clearance for trees, rooflines, power lines, and other obstacles.

How do I know if an inflatable will fit in my backyard?

Start by measuring the open setup space, not just the size of your yard. You need room for the inflatable, the blower, safe entry and exit space, and clearance from fences, trees, rooflines, sprinklers, and power lines.

Each rental page lists the unit dimensions, but we recommend having extra space around the inflatable whenever possible.

How much backyard space do I actually need for a bounce house?

Most standard bounce houses need more than the exact inflatable footprint. A unit that is 15 feet wide may still need additional room for anchoring, the blower, and safe access around the inflatable.

For smaller yards, combo bouncers and compact bounce houses may work better than large slides or obstacle courses.

Can bounce houses be set up on grass, concrete, asphalt, or indoors?

Yes. Bounce houses can be set up on grass, concrete, asphalt, gym floors, and many indoor event spaces. The anchoring method changes based on the surface.

Grass setups are typically secured with stakes. Hard-surface and indoor setups use sandbags or weighted anchors. We cannot set up on rocky, sharp, uneven, unsafe, or hard-to-access areas.

What should I do to prepare the setup area?

Please clear the setup area before our team arrives. Remove toys, furniture, yard tools, pet waste, loose items, and anything sharp. Bounce houses also need space around them, so we cannot set up too close to fences, walls, or other barriers.

What should I do if the bounce house deflates during my event?

Remove all users immediately. Then check that the blower is plugged in, sitting upright, and that nothing is blocking the air intake. Make sure the blower tube is tied tightly and that all zippers are closed.

Also check your breaker box for a tripped breaker. The blower should be the only major item running on that circuit.

Choosing the Right Rental

What is the difference between a bounce house, combo bouncer, obstacle course, and water slide?

A bounce house is usually a jumping area only. A combo bouncer includes bouncing plus a slide, and sometimes basketball hoops or climbing features. An obstacle course is designed for racing, crawling, climbing, and high-energy play. A water slide is made for warm-weather events and uses water for sliding.

Which inflatable keeps kids entertained the longest?

Combo bouncers, obstacle courses, and water slides usually keep kids entertained longer than a basic bounce house because they offer more than one activity. Kids can jump, climb, slide, race, or rotate through the inflatable without getting bored as quickly.

For high-energy events, obstacle courses can be a great fit. You may also like: Why Obstacle Course Rentals Are Event Game Changers.

Should I rent one large inflatable or two smaller inflatables?

For smaller birthday parties, one larger inflatable may be enough. For events with different age groups, larger guest counts, or a mix of toddlers and older kids, two smaller inflatables can sometimes work better.

Two rentals can help separate age groups, reduce waiting, and give kids different activities. One larger rental may be simpler if your space, budget, or power access is limited.

How do I choose the right size water slide?

The best water slide size depends on the age of the kids, your backyard space, the thrill level you want, and how many guests are attending. Smaller slides are usually better for younger children, while taller slides are better for older kids, teens, and higher-energy events.

Should I rent a bounce house or a water slide for my child's birthday?

A bounce house is a great choice for mild weather, younger children, and parties where you want a simple setup. A water slide is usually better for hot weather, summer birthdays, and older kids who want more excitement.

If you want both, a wet/dry combo bouncer may be a good middle option.

Which inflatables are best for toddlers?

Toddlers usually do best with smaller bounce houses, lower slides, and rentals designed for younger children. The goal is not the biggest inflatable; it is the safest and most age-appropriate choice.

For toddler parties, we also recommend separating younger children from older kids whenever possible.

How do I choose an inflatable when children of different ages will be playing together?

Mixed-age parties need a rental that works for the younger kids without boring the older kids. Combo bouncers, medium-sized slides, and obstacle-style rentals can work well depending on the ages involved.

If toddlers and older kids will both be attending, consider separate play times, adult supervision, or renting two different activities.

How do I know what size inflatable is right for my event?

The right size depends on four things: the age of the kids, the number of guests, the size of your setup area, and the type of event. A backyard birthday party may only need one combo bouncer, while a school event or church festival may need multiple attractions.

What are the biggest mistakes parents make when renting a bounce house?

The most common mistakes are waiting too long to book, choosing a rental that is too small for the guest count, not measuring the setup area, forgetting about power, and not thinking through age differences between kids.

What questions should I ask before renting a bounce house?

Good questions include: Is the inflatable commercial grade? Is it cleaned between rentals? Is delivery included? What space is required? What power is needed? What happens if the weather changes? Are there age or weight limits?

Asking better questions helps you avoid surprises and choose a rental company that takes safety, setup, communication, and customer service seriously.

Can I plan a fun birthday party without spending a fortune?

Yes. A great party does not have to include every possible rental. The key is choosing one strong centerpiece activity, keeping the schedule simple, and matching the rental to the age group and guest count.

How do I keep kids cool during a summer birthday party?

For summer parties, plan shade, cold drinks, breaks, and water-friendly activities. Water slides are usually the best centerpiece rental when temperatures are high.

Safety, Capacity & Cleaning

Are bounce houses safe for kids?

Yes, bounce houses are safe when the rules are followed and the inflatable is properly supervised. Safety is our top priority, and our team uses commercial-grade inflatables with safety features such as netting, safe entry steps, heavy-duty vinyl, and proper anchoring.

Do bounce houses need adult supervision?

Yes. Adult supervision is always recommended when children are using a bounce house. An adult should monitor safe play, prevent overcrowding, separate smaller and larger children when needed, and make sure users follow the rules.

Are bounce houses cleaned and sanitized between rentals?

Yes. Our bounce houses are cleaned, inspected, and sanitized between rentals. We want every inflatable to arrive looking clean, smelling fresh, and ready for safe fun.

How many kids can fit in a bounce house at one time?

The number of children who can safely be inside a bounce house at one time depends on the inflatable size, design, manufacturer limits, and the age and size of the children using it.

This is different from how many children can enjoy the inflatable over the course of an entire party. At-one-time capacity is about safe use inside the unit, not total event attendance.

For a deeper breakdown, read: How Many People Can Fit in a Bounce House?

How many children can one bounce house entertain during a party?

This is different from at-one-time capacity. A bounce house may only allow a certain number of children inside safely at once, but over the course of an hour many more kids can enjoy it because children rotate in and out naturally.

For small backyard parties, one inflatable may be enough. For larger parties, school events, festivals, or events with long lines, adding a second activity can help keep the event flowing.

How long can you keep a bounce house running?

A bounce house can run for many hours as long as the blower stays plugged in and operating correctly. The blower must remain on the entire time the inflatable is in use.

For longer events like school festivals, church events, and community events, our commercial-grade equipment is built for extended use.

Can adults use bounce houses?

Some inflatables are designed for children only, while others may allow teens or adults depending on the unit, weight limits, and manufacturer guidelines. Not every bounce house is built for adult use.

For adult-friendly rental ideas, read: The 5 Best Inflatables for Adults.

What are the safest bounce houses for younger children?

The safest choice for younger children is usually a smaller inflatable with age-appropriate features, good visibility, safe entry and exit points, and enough room for children to play without being crowded.

What happens if more guests show up than I expected?

If more guests arrive than expected, the most important thing is controlling how many children use the inflatable at one time. Do not overcrowd the unit just because the party is larger than planned.

Have adults rotate children in groups, separate younger and older kids, and create short turns if needed. For future larger events, consider adding a second inflatable, obstacle course, or interactive game to reduce waiting.

Delivery, Events & Service Areas

What are your delivery and pickup policies?

Deliveries are generally made between 7am and 1pm. For private residences, our goal is to have the unit delivered within about 1 hour of the event start time. For public events such as schools, churches, parks, and larger functions, we aim for about 30 minutes before the event when possible.

Pickup times for private parties can range from about 30 minutes to 4 hours after the event ends. Public events are usually picked up immediately after the event. Exact pickup details are confirmed at delivery.

What should I do if my HOA has rules about inflatables?

If your HOA has rules, check them before booking. Some neighborhoods have restrictions on street placement, overnight rentals, setup times, noise, or how long inflatables can remain in the yard.

It is best to confirm the rules early so you do not run into problems on the day of your event.

What is your damage policy?

The customer is responsible for Fun Times Party Rental equipment once it has been delivered and set up. Additional cleaning charges may apply for gum, candy, excessive dirt, grass, or other messes.

Silly string causes permanent damage to inflatables and can result in a significant damage charge. Please keep silly string, sharp objects, food, drinks, and messy items away from the inflatables.

Do you rent to festivals and large events?

Yes. We provide inflatables and party rentals for backyard parties, school events, church events, festivals, city events, community celebrations, and other large events.
