A campus event can serve a very different crowd than an elementary school carnival or backyard birthday. College-age guests often respond well to competition, challenges, repeat-play activities, obstacle courses, games and experiences they can enjoy with friends. At the same time, many university events also include families, children, alumni, faculty or younger students visiting campus.
That is why the best setup starts with the event, audience, attendance and campus location instead of simply choosing the biggest inflatable. For larger events, the number of guests who can move through the activities during the available event time can matter just as much as the size of the attractions.

Most of the college events we have served used multiple rental items. A balanced setup can combine a major attraction with competitive games and faster-turnover activities so guests have choices and the event is not dependent on a single line.

College Football & Game-Day Event Experience
Tailgate Areas & Stadium Activity Zones
Fun Times Party Rental has handled recurring multi-attraction setups for SMU football events, including installations in the tailgate area outside Gerald J. Ford Stadium and inflatables inside the stadium.
The inflatables inside the stadium were used as an activity area for children attending the game. Our work took place before the stadium's current expansion, so we do not use today's stadium capacity to characterize those earlier events.
Large Private College Football Watch Parties
College football events do not always happen on campus. Fun Times Party Rental has also provided multi-item rentals for large private game-day gatherings, including a recurring SMU away-game watch party with more than 100 guests.
The hosts were SMU season-ticket holders who attended home games and held large gatherings at their home for away games. FTPR was brought in for a number of those football watch parties to create additional entertainment for the crowd.
Hosting the Game at Home?
A 100+ person college-football watch party is closer to a small organized event than a typical backyard get-together. Multiple attractions can give families and guests something to do before kickoff, during breaks and throughout the event while helping spread activity across the property.
We are intentionally keeping the broader tailgate and game-day rental topic limited here. Campus college events are the focus of this page, while tailgates, private watch parties and other football event formats have enough planning needs to support their own dedicated resource.
Campus Logistics Matter Before Event Day
College events can involve more operational planning than a typical residential delivery. The earlier the setup location and campus requirements are confirmed, the easier it is to build a realistic event plan.
COI & Vendor Requirements
A Certificate of Insurance is commonly required for university events. We can also work through the normal vendor-documentation process when the school or department requires paperwork before the event.
Generators Are Common on Campus
In our experience, the large majority of college setups use generators. Campus lawns, athletic areas and outdoor event spaces may not have convenient dedicated electrical circuits where the attractions need to operate.
Plan the Delivery Route
Loading areas, parking, gates, elevators, indoor access, fields and the distance from the truck to the final setup area can all affect delivery. A campus map or clear setup instructions can save time on event day.
Expect Access to Be Harder
Game-day traffic, crowds, parking restrictions and controlled access can make moving equipment around campus considerably more difficult than on a normal day. Setup timing and the unloading location should be coordinated before the event whenever possible.
